The title of this exhibition comes from the philosophical thought experiment, “If a tree falls in a forest and no-one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?”, that raises questions regarding observation and knowledge of reality. The works in this show continue these lines of thought, and expand the discussion into the realm of art and how an individual viewer’s perception can define what an artwork is or what value it has. The exhibition features drawing, print and object assemblage.
